Galatasaray breaks ground on $200M Aslantepe Valley Project

Galatasaray has officially broken ground on its Aslantepe Valley Project, a large-scale multi-sport and mixed-use development next to RAMS Park that represents a major step in the club’s long-term infrastructure and revenue strategy.

The ceremony took place on National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, with senior government officials, former club presidents and members of the sporting community in attendance. Club president Dursun Özbek described the project as a defining milestone, calling it “a foundation for the future, hope and belief.”

“This is one of the proudest days of my life,” Özbek said. “Galatasaray has always turned ambitious goals into reality. Today, we are laying the groundwork for a vision that will carry the club forward.”

The development is designed as a year-round sports ecosystem, focusing on athlete development, fan engagement and multi-discipline use. Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak said the complex will become “a key hub for Turkish sport,” with the capacity to host Olympic disciplines and international events.

Spanning approximately 165,000 square meters, the $200 million project is expected to be completed within three years. Plans include a 13,000-seat indoor arena with premium seating, a 3,500-seat volleyball hall, dedicated basketball training facilities, a multi-purpose indoor hall, and a full-scale swimming facility.

Additional features include a 90-room athlete accommodation center, performance and training areas, and parking capacity for up to 1,500 vehicles. The site is also expected to incorporate fan-focused and commercial elements, turning it into a destination beyond matchdays.

Government support has played a role in advancing the project, aligning with broader efforts to expand Turkey’s sports infrastructure and strengthen its position for hosting major international events.

For Galatasaray, the Aslantepe Valley Project is more than a construction initiative—it is a long-term investment in sustainable success across multiple sports and a cornerstone of the club’s future vision.
