Genius Sports Acquires Legend in Landmark $1.2 Billion Deal


Sports data powerhouse Genius Sports has officially entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Legend, a global leader in sports gaming media, for a total consideration of up to $1.2 billion. This acquisition aims to merge Genius’ official sports data (including NFL and EPL rights) with Legend’s massive audience reach.

Strategic Integration and Fan Hub
The deal will integrate Legend’s proprietary betting odds platform into Genius’ FanHub sports advertising ecosystem. With Legend boasting 320 million visits in 2025 from 118 million unique users, Genius Sports is now positioned as a unique entity operating at scale across official data, media, and advertising.

Financial Breakdown: $1.2 Billion Transaction
Upfront Payment: $900 million ($800 million in cash and $100 million in stock).

Earnout: Up to $300 million based on performance targets related to profitability and cash flow.
