The animated sports film GOAT is set to debut on Netflix on May 14, following a strong theatrical run that generated $190.4 million worldwide.
Produced by Sony Pictures Animation and backed by Stephen Curry, the film premiered in theaters on February 13 before moving to premium video on demand in late March.
“GOAT” features the voice of Caleb McLaughlin as Will, an undersized goat who pursues his dream of playing roarball, a basketball-like sport, competing against powerful animal opponents. The cast also includes Nicola Coughlan, David Harbour and Jennifer Hudson.
The film opened with $27.2 million domestically and climbed to the top of the box office in its second weekend. It closed its North American run with $103.3 million, alongside $87.1 million from international markets.
With a production budget of approximately $80 million, “GOAT” ranks as the third highest-grossing animated film of 2026 so far, trailing only The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Hoppers.
Rated PG, the film’s move to Netflix is expected to expand its global audience following its theatrical success.
