Haaland to make movie debut as animated Viking character

Erling Haaland is set to make his cinema debut as a voice actor in the upcoming animated film ViQueens, scheduled for release during the 2026 Christmas holiday season.

According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter and The Guardian, the Manchester City striker will voice a Viking character — fittingly named “Haaland”.

The movie is being directed by Harald Zwart, while the cast also includes Rita Ora and Ella Purnell. The soundtrack is composed by Christophe Beck, known for his work on Frozen and Frozen II.

Director Harald Zwart described Haaland’s involvement as “an incredible excitement,” adding that the Norwegian star has already become “a real-life Viking icon” around the world thanks to his powerful image and unmistakable Norwegian identity.

ViQueens is currently in production, and Haaland’s participation is expected to significantly boost the film’s international appeal.
