Inter Miami CF’s newly opened Nu Stadium has been selected by FIFA to host the decisive stage of the 2027 FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, adding another major international event to the venue’s growing calendar.
The 26,700-capacity stadium will stage the competition’s semi-finals, third-place play-off and final between 27 and 31 January 2027.
The decision gives the new Miami venue an early opportunity to establish itself as an international destination for football and entertainment events, while bringing the world’s leading women’s club teams to South Florida.
FIFA brings Women’s Champions Cup to Miami
The FIFA Women’s Champions Cup brings together the reigning club champions from the six continental confederations in a knockout tournament designed to determine a global club champion.
The inaugural edition culminated in a final in London. FIFA will now take the competition’s final phase to the United States, with Miami becoming the host city for the 2027 edition’s final rounds.
FIFA chief football officer Jill Ellis said the move reflects the competition’s ambition to provide the leading women’s clubs with an annual global platform.
“The FIFA Women’s Champions Cup was created with a clear ambition: to give the best clubs in the world the chance to compete on the global stage every year,” Ellis said.
The tournament’s 2027 field already includes Concacaf champions Club América Femenil and UEFA champions FC Barcelona Femení, while clubs from Asia, Africa, Oceania and South America will qualify through preliminary rounds scheduled for October and December.
New stadium seeks international event profile
For Inter Miami and Nu Stadium, hosting FIFA’s tournament final phase adds an international football property to the venue’s event portfolio less than a year after its opening.
Inter Miami chief revenue officer Iñigo Aznar said the club’s objective is to build on the momentum generated by its growing presence in South Florida and position Nu Stadium as a major venue for sports and entertainment.
The Women’s Champions Cup will also bring international supporters and travelling clubs to Miami, creating additional opportunities across hospitality, tourism and the wider event economy.
With a capacity of 26,700, Nu Stadium is being positioned not only as Inter Miami’s home but also as a venue capable of hosting major international sporting events.
The decision comes as women’s club football continues to develop a more global commercial footprint, with international competitions providing clubs, governing bodies and host cities with new opportunities to grow audiences and generate revenue.
