Spanish football has reached a new milestone as LaLiga EA Sports and LaLiga Hypermotion recorded their highest-ever combined attendance in the 2025–2026 season, attracting a total of 17.5 million fans to stadiums.
Across both divisions, a total of 17,535,164 spectators attended matches throughout the campaign, representing a 0.8% increase compared to the previous season. The league also achieved a new record average attendance per match of 20,776 fans, up 0.5% year-on-year.
Growth despite stadium disruptions
The record was achieved despite several clubs facing stadium renovations, reduced capacities, or temporary relocations. Among the affected venues were:
- Spotify Camp Nou (FC Barcelona)
- Coliseum (Getafe CF)
- ABANCA Balaídos (Celta Vigo)
- Ibercaja Stadium (Real Zaragoza)
- Estadio Municipal de Anduva (CD Mirandés)
Even with these limitations, fan turnout remained strong across both the top flight and the second division.
Strong fan engagement across Spain
LaLiga highlighted that the continued growth reflects the strong connection between clubs and supporters, as well as ongoing improvements in stadium infrastructure and matchday experience.
Despite structural challenges in several venues, demand for live football continued to rise, reinforcing Spain’s position as one of Europe’s strongest domestic football markets in terms of attendance.
