Liga Endesa Nears 77% Attendance in March 2025–2026 Season

Liga Endesa Attendance Nears 77% in March 2025–2026 Season

Liga Endesa has reported a strong rebound in attendance levels, reaching 76.9% average arena occupancy in March of the 2025–2026 season, according to compiled data. The Spanish top-tier basketball league continues to show solid fan engagement despite fluctuations compared to the previous year.

Over 245,000 Fans Attended in March

Across four matchdays (rounds 21 to 24), a total of 245,916 spectators attended games during the month. While this reflects sustained interest, it also marks a 20.5% decline compared to March of the previous season, when over 309,000 fans attended across five rounds.

Average attendance per game stood at 61,479 spectators, slightly below last season’s figure of 61,870.

High Occupancy and Multiple Sell-Outs

March featured 17 matches with attendance above 90%, indicating that many venues operated close to full capacity.

Three games achieved full or near-full attendance:

  • Río Breogán vs FC Barcelona Bàsquet — held at Pazo Provincial dos Deportes de Lugo (5,310 spectators)
  • Bàsquet Girona vs Real Madrid Baloncesto — at Fontajau (5,532 spectators, exceeding capacity levels)
  • La Laguna Tenerife vs Casademont Zaragoza — at Santiago Martín (5,100 spectators)

Several other fixtures also came close to sell-outs, with occupancy rates exceeding 95%, including games involving teams such as BAXI Manresa, Unicaja Málaga, and others.

Lower Attendance in Select Matches

On the other end of the spectrum, four games fell below 50% arena occupancy, including matchups featuring Real Madrid Baloncesto and Joventut Badalona, among others.

These disparities highlight the influence of venue size, matchup appeal, and team draw on attendance figures across the league.

Clubs with Strong Local Pull

Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos stood out as the club with the highest total attendance in March, attracting 27,443 fans across its three home games. Teams with smaller arenas, typically seating between 5,000 and 6,000 spectators, often achieve higher occupancy percentages, contributing to near sell-out environments.

Venue Size and Competitive Context

The league features a mix of arena capacities:

  • Smaller venues (5,000–6,000 seats) often reach near full occupancy
  • Larger arenas (9,000–15,000 seats) tend to record lower percentage fill rates

As the season progresses toward the playoffs, attendance typically increases, reflecting heightened competition and fan interest.

Outlook

Despite the year-on-year dip in March attendance, the Liga Endesa continues to demonstrate strong engagement levels, with consistent near-capacity crowds and high-demand matchups reinforcing its position as one of Europe’s most well-supported domestic basketball competitions.
