LIV Golf has officially extended its broadcast agreement with SuperSport, ensuring comprehensive live coverage of the 2026 season across Sub-Saharan Africa. The deal, a core component of LIV Golf’s global media strategy, will bring all 14 league events to audiences in 10 countries through the MultiChoice-owned broadcaster.
The African Milestone: LIV Golf South Africa
The 2026 season is set to be the most significant in the region’s history, as the league makes its competitive debut on the African continent.
- Event: LIV Golf South Africa
- Dates: March 19–22, 2026
- Venue: The Club at Steyn City, Johannesburg
- Format: 72-hole competition (four days)
Spotlight on the “Southern Guards”
A major draw for the regional audience is the Southern Guards GC (formerly Stinger GC), the league’s all-South African team. SuperSport recently primed fans for this renewal by airing the docuseries Greens & Gold, which chronicled the team’s culture and journey.
The 2026 Southern Guards Roster:
- Louis Oosthuizen (Captain): 2010 Open Champion.
- Charl Schwartzel: 2011 Masters Champion and inaugural LIV London winner.
- Dean Burmester: Prolific winner and the team’s “tone-setter.”
- Branden Grace: LIV Portland 2022 Champion and core veteran.
