Macron leads LaLiga retro kit takeover in league-wide ‘Jornada Retro’ initiative

Macron is set to dominate Spanish football this weekend as LaLiga and LaLiga Hypermotion clubs take part in a league-wide “Jornada Retro” activation running from April 10–13, 2026, blending nostalgia, fashion and commercial storytelling across 21 matches.

The initiative, unveiled during Madrid Fashion Week, will see eight clubs wear specially designed retro-inspired kits created by Macron, reinforcing the brand’s position as the most widely represented kit supplier across Spain’s top two divisions.

Clubs involved include Levante UD, CA Osasuna, Real Sociedad, UD Almería, Burgos CF, Cádiz CF, AD Ceuta FC, and Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa. Each kit draws inspiration from key historical eras in the respective club’s identity, ranging from early 1900s designs to early 2000s promotion campaigns.

LaLiga match officials will also wear retro-styled kits across the full round of fixtures, part of Macron’s ongoing partnership with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which began in 2020–21.

The activation highlights a growing trend in European football: using heritage-led kit drops as multi-club marketing assets, blending fashion, nostalgia, and broadcast visibility into a single commercial moment.
