Manchester City invests £10 Million in new facilities for women’s team

Manchester City Women has unveiled a new dedicated training complex following a £10 million investment aimed at strengthening the club’s long-term commitment to women’s football.

The new facilities include a modern gym, medical treatment areas, physiotherapy and rehabilitation spaces designed to improve player preparation, recovery and injury prevention.

The complex remains fully integrated within the broader football operations of Manchester City at the City Football Academy. The site also houses the Joie Stadium, the first stadium purpose-built for the Women’s Super League more than a decade ago.

The investment comes amid growing infrastructure development across women’s football in England. Recently, Brighton & Hove Albion Women also announced plans to build a dedicated stadium for its women’s team, scheduled to open during the 2030-31 season.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak described the project as the next logical step in the club’s long-term vision for women’s football.

“These new facilities represent the next logical step in our long-term commitment to Manchester City Women and our long-term belief in the future of women’s football,” he said.

Meanwhile, Charlotte O’Neill emphasized the importance of creating an elite-performance environment for players.

“This new space will allow us to create an environment where our players can thrive, where the highest standards are set and where the current squad has everything it needs to continue competing for and winning trophies,” she stated.
