WOKING, UK – McLaren Racing has officially extended its long-term partnership with Dell Technologies, ensuring the US-based tech giant remains the Official Innovation Partner for the McLaren Formula 1 and F1 Sim Racing teams.

The collaboration, which first launched in 2018, has become a cornerstone of McLaren’s technical operations. The renewal comes as McLaren enters the 2026 season as the incumbent Formula 1 Constructors’ and Drivers’ Champion, following a dominant 2025 campaign with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Powering Performance with the Dell AI Factory

The extension focuses heavily on advanced computing and artificial intelligence. McLaren utilizes the Dell AI Factory—a suite of Dell PowerEdge servers and end-to-end AI capabilities—to process approximately 1.5 terabytes of data every race weekend.

This infrastructure supports:

  • Rapid Simulations: Refining race strategies in real-time.
  • Digital Twins: Creating virtual models of the car to predict performance under varying track conditions.
  • Engineering & Design: Facilitating Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) workloads at the McLaren Technology Centre.
  • Esports: Powering the Alienware systems used by the McLaren F1 Sim Racing team.

A New Era: The McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team

The Dell renewal is part of a broader commercial surge for the team. Starting in 2026, the team will officially compete as the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, following a record-breaking title sponsorship deal. Dell Technologies branding will continue to feature prominently on the MCL40 race car, alongside other key partners like Google, OKX, and new technical kit provider Puma.

“Our work with Dell Technologies has become a natural part of how we operate,” said Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing. “Their support helps us stay agile and competitive in a sport where every detail matters.”
