McLaren Launches High-Performance Golf Line

McLaren Racing, the most valuable team on the Formula 1 grid, is officially expanding its footprint beyond motorsport. The team announced it will launch its first range of professional-grade golf equipment on April 29, 2026, aiming to bring elite automotive engineering to the golf course.

The move marks a strategic diversification for the Woking-based brand, which has successfully capitalized on the recent World Championship title of its driver, Lando Norris, to solidify its status as the most valuable F1 team globally, currently valued at $5 billion.

Engineering Excellence on the Green

The new venture, McLaren Golf, is designed to merge the high-performance philosophies of McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive. According to the official announcement, the equipment is developed by a team combining “world-class engineering minds” with “leading figures from the golf industry.”

Neil Howie, CEO of McLaren Golf, stated: “We are building a brand based on McLaren’s high-performance DNA and integrating it into a new sporting realm. We’ve combined some of the brightest engineering minds with top-tier golf experts to create a truly innovative enterprise.”

A Strategic Step to Reach New Audiences

For Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, the decision to enter the golf market is a logical progression of the brand’s pursuit of excellence. “Bringing our benchmark engineering standards from the grid to the golf course feels like a natural step, and it opens the McLaren brand to an entirely new audience,” Brown noted.

The “Papaya” Momentum

This expansion comes at a peak time for the McLaren brand, which has seen immense growth in both financial value and commercial partnerships:

  • Valuation: The team remains the most valuable on the F1 grid, backed by strategic investments from Bahrain’s Mumtalakat and Abu Dhabi’s CYVN Holdings.
  • Global Partnerships: Just days ago, McLaren announced a multi-year deal with Etihad Airways, which will see the airline partner with both the McLaren Mastercard F1 Team and the McLaren United Autosports WEC Hypercar Team.

By pivoting toward the golf industry—a sport often associated with high-net-worth demographics—McLaren is positioning itself to capitalize on the crossover between luxury automotive engineering and premium sporting lifestyle markets.
