NFL and TMRW Sports Launch Pro Flag Football League

The NFL has officially selected TMRW Sports—the tech-focused sports venture led by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy—to develop and operate its first professional flag football league for both men and women. Announced during the NFL’s annual meeting in Phoenix, the league represents a major pillar of the NFL’s global strategy ahead of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

A Star-Studded Investment Group

The new venture has secured backing from an unprecedented roster of legendary athletes and institutional giants:

  • NFL Icons: Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Larry Fitzgerald.
  • Active NFL Stars: Bobby Wagner, Russell Wilson, and Arik Armstead.
  • Women’s Sports Legends: Serena Williams, Billie Jean King, Alex Morgan, and Ilana Kloss.
  • Financial Powerhouses: Silver Lake, Sixth Street, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six.

Strategic Vision and Funding

All 32 NFL teams have unanimously voted to invest a total of $32 million ($1 million per franchise) to support the league’s launch. The competition is designed as a spring and summer league, providing a professional pathway for athletes as flag football prepares for its historic Olympic debut in 2028.
