Nike and MLB Unveil 2026 City Connect Uniforms for Eight Teams

MLB and Nike Launch New City Connect Uniforms for Braves, Orioles, Padres and More

Nike and Major League Baseball have unveiled the latest wave of City Connect uniforms for the 2026 season, marking the first time eight teams have launched their designs simultaneously.

The participating clubs include the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, and Texas Rangers.

City-inspired designs and local storytelling

Each uniform draws inspiration from the respective team’s city, culture, and history, continuing the City Connect concept of blending sport with local identity. The designs incorporate regional symbols, colors, and heritage elements to create unique visual identities beyond traditional team uniforms.

Second-generation City Connect rollout

This latest release represents the second iteration of City Connect uniforms for these teams, building on previous designs with updated aesthetics and deeper references to each city’s identity. The uniforms are intended to remain part of each club’s rotation for multiple seasons.

Highlights from selected teams

  • Atlanta Braves: A modern take on classic powder blue uniforms, incorporating red piping and vintage-inspired elements tied to past eras.
  • Baltimore Orioles: Designs reference Camden Yards and Baltimore’s baseball heritage, including historical motifs and the “BMORE” wordmark.
  • Cincinnati Reds: A pinstripe revival with nods to traditional vest-style jerseys and local landmarks like the Tyler Davidson Fountain.
  • Kansas City Royals: A gradient design inspired by the city’s fountains, along with symbolic logos representing the heart of the Midwest.
  • Milwaukee Brewers: A lakes-and-sunset theme reflecting Wisconsin’s geography, incorporating regional references such as “Wisco.”
  • Pittsburgh Pirates: A black-and-gold palette emphasizing Pittsburgh identity, with typography inspired by the city’s bridges.
  • San Diego Padres: A culturally influenced design incorporating Día de los Muertos elements and bi-national regional identity.
  • Texas Rangers: A design rooted in Texas and Mexican heritage, featuring traditional motifs and the “Tejas” wordmark.

Expanding MLB’s merchandising strategy

The uniforms are available through multiple retail channels, including team stores and major online platforms, reinforcing the commercial importance of the City Connect program. The initiative continues to play a key role in MLB’s broader efforts to engage younger audiences and expand global merchandise appeal through localized storytelling and modern design.
