Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa are guaranteed €4 million each for taking part in the 2026 UEFA Super Cup, while the winner will receive an additional €1 million.
The 51st edition of the UEFA Super Cup will be played on Wednesday, August 12, at Stadion Salzburg in Austria, with the reigning UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League winners facing off.
PSG secured their place after beating Arsenal on penalties in the Champions League final following a 1-1 draw after extra time. The victory gave Luis Enrique’s side back-to-back Champions League titles.
Aston Villa qualified by winning the Europa League final, beating Freiburg 3-0 on May 20.
Both clubs will receive a guaranteed €4 million participation payment, while the winner will take home €5 million in total.
It will be only PSG’s second appearance in the UEFA Super Cup, following their first participation in 1996. Aston Villa, meanwhile, are returning to the competition for the first time since 1982.
PSG are also defending their Super Cup title after beating Tottenham Hotspur on penalties following a 2-2 draw after extra time in last year’s final.
