PSG expands lifestyle strategy with “La Maison”

French champions Paris Saint-Germain brought their “Ici C’est Paris La Maison” concept to Shanghai this week, transforming the city’s historic Zhangyuan district into a multi-day PSG cultural destination between 14 and 17 May.

The activation formed part of the club’s wider international growth strategy focused on fashion, entertainment, culture and experiential fan engagement beyond traditional football.

PSG Continues Building a Global Lifestyle Brand

La Maison Shanghai was designed as an immersive PSG-branded environment combining football, fashion, gastronomy, gaming and local cultural programming.

The event featured:

  • trophy exhibitions
  • exclusive fashion collaborations
  • gaming and VR experiences
  • workshops with local creatives
  • culinary experiences developed with French and Chinese chefs and hospitality brands

The activation highlighted PSG’s continued positioning as a global lifestyle and entertainment brand rather than solely a football club.

Club legend Claude Makélélé participated in the opening activities, helping connect PSG’s football heritage with local supporter engagement in China.

Shanghai Event Focused on Local Cultural Integration

A major element of the Shanghai activation was its localisation strategy, blending PSG’s global identity with Asian creative culture and regional partnerships.

The project included collaborations with brands such as PHANTACi by Jay Chou, Balansa and Fanatics China, while also incorporating Shanghai-based culinary and artistic experiences.

By integrating local fashion, food and creative industries into the activation, PSG strengthened its strategy of creating regionally tailored fan experiences while expanding its commercial and cultural footprint in Asia.

Football Clubs Increasingly Compete Through Culture and Experience

Modern football clubs are increasingly investing in lifestyle-driven activations as they compete for global relevance beyond matchdays and media rights.

For PSG, projects like La Maison reflect a broader business model built around fashion, entertainment, tourism and cultural influence — areas that continue to play a growing role in international fan development and brand monetisation.
