Real Valladolid has launched the first phase of its stadium renovation project with an investment of €11.8 million, following approval from the Valladolid City Council.
The initial works include the construction of two new communication cores attached to the north and west stands of the Estadio José Zorrilla, covering nearly 7,000 square meters. The project marks the official start of a long-planned transformation of the venue.
A key focus of the investment is improving accessibility, particularly through the installation of mechanical lift systems to better serve fans with reduced mobility. In parallel, the club will build a new 1,000-square-meter facility at the training grounds, featuring a high-performance gym, medical areas, and spaces for technical staff and youth teams.
The project is being financed through LaLiga’s CVC funds, aimed at upgrading club infrastructure. Real Valladolid’s objective is to bring the stadium closer to UEFA Category 4 standards, enabling it to host major international finals and tournaments.
Beyond infrastructure, the redevelopment will enhance fan experience, including expanded hospitality areas, upgraded access systems, improved food and beverage services, and new public facilities.
The club also plans to position the stadium as a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting corporate, cultural, and social events, generating additional revenue beyond matchdays.
