Saran Media Group secures Women’s World Cup rights across 24 territories

FIFA has awarded media rights for the 2027 Women’s World Cup to Saran Media Group across 24 European and Eurasian markets, expanding the tournament’s global broadcast reach.

Under the agreement, Saran Media Group will act as FIFA’s exclusive media rights agency in countries including Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan and several others, coordinating coverage with local broadcasters in each territory.

The deal is part of FIFA’s broader international distribution strategy for the tournament, which will take place in Brazil from June 24 to July 27, marking the first time South America hosts the Women’s World Cup.

The agreement follows a separate major partnership with the European Broadcasting Union, which secured free-to-air coverage in more than 40 additional territories across Europe, ensuring widespread accessibility for fans.

According to FIFA, these combined broadcast agreements represent the most extensive Women’s World Cup coverage ever secured in Europe, with at least one match per day expected to be shown free-to-air in participating regions.

FIFA chief football officer Jill Ellis highlighted the growing commercial and cultural momentum behind women’s football, noting that increased media rights revenue will be reinvested into the global development of the women’s game.

Additional broadcasting deals have already been confirmed in key markets such as France, Sweden and the United Kingdom, with negotiations still ongoing in remaining territories.

The 2023 edition of the tournament previously reached over two billion viewers worldwide across TV, digital and social platforms, underscoring the rapid growth and commercial expansion of women’s football on a global scale.
