Serie A has renewed its broadcasting agreement with DAZN for the UK and Ireland, just days before the 2026/27 season kicks off on August 22.
Under the new agreement, seven of the 10 fixtures on each matchday will be broadcast exclusively on DAZN in the UK. That represents a slight reduction from last season, when DAZN carried eight matches per matchday during its first Serie A season in the market.
The renewal further strengthens DAZN’s position in the UK sports broadcasting market, where its football portfolio also includes TNT Sports and, more recently, the BBC.
The BBC will broadcast one Serie A match per matchweek, with 19 matches available on Gaelic-language channel BBC Alba and a further 19 streamed with English commentary on BBC iPlayer.
The agreement comes as interest in Serie A continues to grow among British audiences. This summer, John Stones and Djed Spence joined the Italian top flight, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori, Trevoh Chalobah and Lloyd Kelly are among the other English players already competing in the league. Seven Scottish players are also contracted to Serie A clubs.
DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev said the renewal represented the company’s continued investment in premium football content and the viewing experience for fans, adding that it further strengthens DAZN’s position as a global sports platform.
DAZN has continued to expand its international football portfolio. In the past week, the company secured domestic rights to Spain’s Liga F, while Serie A agreed a separate three-year broadcasting deal with UAE-based Begin.
The renewal gives DAZN another important foothold in the UK market as international football rights become increasingly fragmented across broadcasters and streaming platforms.
