Torino FC has formalized a strategic partnership with Politecnico di Torino to initiate a comprehensive redevelopment project for the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino and the Robaldo Training Center, marking a key step in the club’s long-term infrastructure strategy.
The agreement, announced via an official club statement, outlines the beginning of the bureaucratic and planning process required to modernize the historic stadium dedicated to the legendary Grande Torino side. Beyond the sports facilities themselves, the initiative is embedded within a broader urban regeneration vision that also targets the redevelopment of surrounding districts.
Through this collaboration, Torino FC will work alongside Politecnico di Torino to design a public-private partnership (PPP) proposal based on project financing. The plan will ultimately be submitted to the City of Turin, following the formal presentation of an expression of interest to local authorities. The club emphasized that this partnership represents a “concrete first step†toward delivering a full proposal in the near term.
Club president Urbano Cairo described the development as a milestone in a process that has been in preparation for some time. He underlined the importance of working with an institution of internationally recognized technical expertise, noting that the collaboration is essential to ensuring the project’s credibility, sustainability, and alignment with regulatory frameworks, including Italy’s Stadium Law.
From an academic and technical standpoint, Politecnico di Torino framed the partnership as an opportunity to push the boundaries of innovation in public-private infrastructure projects.
