A new strategic alliance between UCFB and Johan Cruyff Institute is aiming to reshape the future of sports education, bringing together academic innovation and one of the most influential leadership philosophies in sport.
The partnership builds on the legacy of legendary Dutch figure Johan Cruyff, focusing on leadership, innovation, and a global vision for the sports industry. Through this collaboration, both institutions will launch a portfolio of courses designed to equip the next generation of professionals with the tools needed to lead in an increasingly complex and globalized sports ecosystem.
Among the initial offerings are a BA (Hons) in Sports Management, delivered through a blend of online learning and in-person sessions across London, Manchester, and Barcelona; an MSc in Sports Directorship tailored for former players and senior executives; and an Executive Course in Sports Leadership aimed at decision-makers navigating strategic challenges in sport.
The executive program, currently under development, will span multiple international hubs—Manchester, London, Barcelona, and Madrid—each focusing on key pillars of modern sports leadership, including financial strategy, commercial growth, fan engagement, governance, and sport diplomacy.
For both institutions, the partnership represents a shared commitment to professionalizing the sports industry through education. It also reflects a growing trend of sports organizations investing in structured leadership development to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global market.
The collaboration was formalized at the Johan Cruyff Arena, underscoring its symbolic and strategic significance. With this move, UCFB and Johan Cruyff Institute are positioning themselves at the forefront of sports education, aiming to cultivate leaders who can think strategically, act globally, and shape the future of the industry.
