UEFA Champions League Final 2026: broadcast production details and camera plan revealed

The 2026 UEFA Champions League Final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will take place on Saturday, May 30 at the Puskás Arena in Budapest, with UEFA confirming detailed broadcast and production arrangements for the global audience.

UEFA has appointed RTL Hungary as the host broadcaster, with technical production delivered by One Broadcast in collaboration with Mediapro, under the direction of TV match director Juan Figueroa.

Ultra-HD production standards and audio experience

The final will be produced in 1080p50 HDR (HLG colour space), with both HDR and SDR feeds available to broadcasters. The production will also include Dolby surround sound and Dolby Atmos immersive audio, enhancing the viewing experience for global audiences.

The SDR feed will be generated using LUT (NBCU) colour mapping from the HDR source, ensuring consistent visual quality across formats.

Massive broadcast infrastructure

UEFA has allocated extensive unilateral facilities for broadcasters, including:

  • 146 commentary positions for TV, radio and social media
  • 37 unilateral camera positions and 36 social media cameras
  • 26 pitch presentation positions and 10 reverse positions
  • 10 flash interview zones and 6 super flash areas
  • Three pitchside studios and multiple broadcast offices
  • Over 12,000 m² of broadcast compound space
  • 149 km of fibre optic infrastructure laid by UEFA

Additionally, official match film will be produced on site and distributed via the UEFA Hive platform.

42-camera world feed production

The host broadcast will be delivered through a 42-camera system, including:

  • Aerial camera system and helicopter coverage
  • Two drones
  • Eight super slow-motion cameras
  • Three high-speed cameras
  • Two jib hotheads
  • Two pole cameras

UEFA’s production setup aims to deliver one of the most technologically advanced broadcast experiences in Champions League history.
