Santos FC, Umbro and NR Sports have launched a special collaboration that saw Umbro temporarily replaced by Pelé Brand on the club’s kit during a Brazilian league match against Atlético Mineiro at Vila Belmiro.
Instead of the traditional Umbro logo, players wore shirts featuring Pelé’s iconic celebration, marking the debut of the tribute branding on Santos’ official matchday kit. The shirts used in the match will later be collected and used for special commemorative activations.
The initiative is part of a broader partnership that goes beyond a one-off tribute. Starting in the second half of 2026, the collaboration will expand into limited-edition collections, global campaigns and numbered jersey releases ranging from 01 to 1,091, referencing the number of goals Pelé scored for Santos.
Club president Marcelo Teixeira described the project as a natural extension of Santos’ identity, emphasizing the inseparable link between the club and Pelé’s legacy. Umbro Brazil director Eduardo Dal Pogetto also highlighted the decision to replace the logo as both symbolic and strategically significant, noting the brand’s long-standing relationship with the club.
The partnership aims to position Santos as a global platform that blends football, culture and heritage, using Pelé’s legacy to connect with new generations of fans and international markets.
