Premium golf bag brand Vessel is quietly accelerating its presence in the golf industry, emphasizing quality, functionality, and a design philosophy its founder Ronnie Shaw calls “quiet luxury.â€
Since launching in 2013, Vessel has focused on building the best golf bags possible without prioritizing price. That approach has helped the Carlsbad, California-based brand grow steadily, with sales up roughly 40% in the past year. Vessel’s flagship Player line, made of durable PU leather, accounts for about a third of its business and has helped the company carve a niche in the high-end golf bag market.
“We want somebody to feel we’re not loud and we’ve got nothing to prove,†Shaw said, highlighting the brand’s focus on material quality, craftsmanship, and thoughtful functionality over flashy marketing. Vessel’s bags feature innovations like carbon-fiber legs, magnetic closures, and abrasion-resistant materials designed for heavy use.
Looking ahead, Vessel plans to refresh its Player V and Player V Pro models in 2026 and is exploring a new line to reach a broader audience without compromising its design ethos. Core products are priced between $400 and $500, reflecting the company’s commitment to premium materials and construction.
Beyond bags, Vessel is expanding into apparel—including polos, t-shirts, shorts, and pants—and accessories such as travel covers, headcovers, backpacks, and innovative golf gear like the magnetic Landing Pad for rangefinders and a legless Sunday carry bag that doubles as a golf shoe bag.
Approximately 60% of Vessel’s revenue comes from direct-to-consumer sales, but the brand continues to strengthen relationships with retailers and private clubs. Shaw notes YouTube has become a key discovery channel for Vessel, reflecting how golfers increasingly research equipment online.
With plans for collaborations with like-minded companies and new product lines in 2026, Vessel is positioning itself as a quiet but influential player in the premium golf equipment market.
