West Ham United have named Karim Virani as interim chief executive officer following the departure of Baroness Karren Brady.
Virani returns to the Premier League club for a second spell, having previously overseen West Ham’s digital, marketing and commercial operations between 2015 and 2020. Since then, he has worked across sports, technology and financial services, including founding his own sports marketing agency.
More recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer at Rangers FC from 2023 to 2025. He has also held board-level roles at Mental Health First Aid England and Hashtag United.
In his first statement after returning to West Ham, Virani said he felt “proud and honoured” to rejoin the club, highlighting its heritage, loyal fanbase and ambition both on and off the pitch. He stressed that his immediate focus is supporting manager Nuno Espírito Santo and the team as they aim to finish the Premier League season strongly.
Virani also praised the “collective spirit” within the club, including players, staff and supporters, and said he is determined to help West Ham achieve its objectives moving forward.
