WNBA and Skechers announce multiyear partnership

The Women’s National Basketball Association has announced a new multi-year partnership with Skechers, officially naming the global footwear brand as a league partner ahead of the WNBA’s 30th regular season, which begins on May 8.

The agreement marks a major step in Skechers’ growing investment in professional basketball and comes amid the league’s rising global popularity and commercial momentum.

WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison said the partnership reflects the increasing interest from international brands looking to connect with the league’s expanding fanbase.

Before finalizing the league-wide deal, Skechers had already built visibility in women’s basketball through endorsement agreements with several WNBA stars, including Jackie Young of the Las Vegas Aces, Rickea Jackson of the Chicago Sky, and Kiki Iriafen from the Washington Mystics.

David Weinberg, COO of Skechers, stated that the partnership will allow the company’s basketball footwear technology to gain greater exposure through the WNBA’s rapidly expanding audience.

As part of the collaboration, Skechers will promote its basketball performance lineup, including the SKX NEXUS, SKX Resagrip and SKX Reign models.
