Canadian airline Air Transat has launched a creative campaign built around the rising cost of FIFA World Cup tickets.
Instead of traditional sponsorship or tournament branding, the airline focused on a consumer frustration: the price of a single match ticket.
The campaign compares live World Cup ticket prices with the cost of return flights from Canada to the countries fans support. The core idea is simple: for the same price as attending one match, fans could travel and experience football culture in its home country.
With Canada approaching its role as a host nation, ticket pricing has become a major talking point among supporters, making the campaign highly relevant to ongoing sports conversations.
Garci Inigo, Vice President of Marketing and Loyalty at Air Transat, said the initiative highlights that football culture extends beyond stadiums into streets, cafés, and everyday life in each destination.
Rafik Belmesk from Courage Montreal added that the idea worked because it connected a real consumer tension with a clear brand truth in a timely and engaging way.
