Aston Villa to change shirt sponsor for Europa League final in Istanbul

Aston Villa will make a special kit adjustment for the UEFA Europa League final against SC Freiburg in Istanbul due to Türkiye’s restrictions on betting-related sponsorship advertising.

The English side has been forced to remove its main front-of-shirt betting sponsor for the final, as local regulations prohibit the display of gambling brands during sporting events held in the country.

Instead, Aston Villa will wear shirts featuring the name of the club’s charitable and community initiative, Aston Villa Foundation, across the front of the jersey for the one-off occasion.

The club is also expected to wear its third kit during the final as part of the adjustment.

The UEFA Europa League final, which will determine the 2025/26 champion, is set to take place in Istanbul and has already attracted significant international attention both on and off the pitch.
