The Atlanta Falcons have officially unveiled a new set of uniforms, marking their first major redesign of the decade.
The franchise announced on Thursday that the updated look will replace the kits worn since the 2020 season. The most notable change sees the team return to red as the primary home jersey, replacing the black tops that had defined their recent identity.
The new red jerseys pay tribute to the Falcons’ pre-1990 era and will be paired with white pants, blending heritage with a modern aesthetic. According to team officials, the move is intended to reconnect with the club’s historical roots while energizing its future.
In a statement, Matt Ryan, now serving as the team’s president of football, emphasized the emotional significance of the color red, linking it to some of the most memorable moments in franchise history and the spirit of the city.
Alongside the home kit, the Falcons also introduced a refreshed white road uniform, which can be combined with either white or black pants. Subtle design elements, including vertical pant stripes, echo the team’s original 1966 uniforms.
The team will continue to use black helmets as its primary headgear, though with slight refinements, including a smaller logo and a facemask updated to a more silver-toned finish. A throwback combination featuring black jerseys with red helmets will also remain in rotation.
