In a landmark expansion of South American football’s digital footprint, CONMEBOL has signed a multi-territory agreement with the Brazilian YouTube channel Canal GOAT. Starting February 19, 2026, the partnership will bring Portuguese-language coverage of the continent’s most prestigious club tournaments to 55 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
With this deal, CONMEBOL’s premier competitions—the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, and Recopa Sudamericana—will now be accessible in a staggering 194 countries via YouTube.
Expanding the “Islanders” of Football
The primary objective of this partnership is two-fold: to penetrate strategic global markets and to reconnect the vast Brazilian diaspora with their home clubs.
- Key New Markets: The expansion includes major territories such as the United Kingdom, France, Japan, South Korea, India, and Australia.
- Language Focus: All broadcasts in these new 55 territories will be delivered in Portuguese, catering specifically to the millions of Brazilians living abroad.
- Platform Advantage: By leveraging YouTube, CONMEBOL bypasses traditional pay-wall barriers in non-core markets, opting for a high-reach, ad-supported model.
Kickoff: The Recopa Sudamericana
The international rollout officially began on Thursday, February 19, 2026, with the first leg of the Recopa Sudamericana between Lanús (ARG) and Flamengo (BRA). This high-stakes match serves as a showcase for the new global feed.
Canal GOAT’s Rising Portfolio
