Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has confirmed it will return to Las Vegas to provide exclusive, live on-site coverage of the National Rugby League’s (NRL) 2026 season-opening “Vegas Triple-Header.” The broadcast will originate from Allegiant Stadium, highlighting the league’s continued effort to expand its footprint in the United States.
The event, scheduled for Sunday, March 1 (AEDT), features two NRL blockbusters: the Newcastle Knights vs. North Queensland Cowboys and the Canterbury Bulldogs vs. St George Illawarra Dragons. A Super League clash between Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos will also be part of the festivities.
Technical and Commercial Expansion
- Expert Commentary: The broadcast team includes veteran Jimmy Smith alongside former NRL stars Chad Townsend and Tim Mannah.
- Low-Latency Technology: SEN will utilize its proprietary “SEN Stadium” and “SEN Sync” technology to eliminate broadcast delays for fans listening both in the U.S. and across Australia’s major markets (Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne).
- Local Activations: To bridge the international gap, SEN has partnered with Clubs NSW to host live watch parties in Australia, featuring roving entertainers and specialized broadcasts to drive fan engagement in local venues.
SEN CEO Craig Hutchison noted that the return to Nevada reflects the growing global appetite for rugby league, following successful viewership and engagement metrics from the previous year’s international venture.
