FIFA Partners with DAZN for Global Free Broadcast of Women’s Champions Cup

FIFA has announced a major strategic partnership with DAZN to broadcast the inaugural Women’s Champions Cup (the female equivalent of the Intercontinental Cup) for free to a global audience. The move is part of FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s broader initiative to monetize and expand new tournament formats.

Key Tournament Details

The final phase of this annual competition will take place in England from January 28 to February 1, 2026.

  • Host Venue: The final will be held at Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal FC, while the semi-finals will take place at Brentford FC’s stadium.
  • The Participants: The Final Four features the champions of the world’s top continental confederations:
    • Arsenal FC (England/Europe – UWCL Winners)
    • Corinthians (Brazil/South America – Copa Libertadores Winners)
    • Gotham FC (USA/North America)
    • ASFAR (Morocco/Africa)

Broadcasting Strategy

To maximize viewership, FIFA has secured a multi-platform distribution model:

  • Global: DAZN will offer the tournament for free worldwide through its OTT platform.
  • Local Windows: Sky Sports will hold the rights in the UK to focus on Arsenal, while CazéTV will handle the broadcast in Brazil to follow Corinthians.

Future Roadmap

This annual tournament serves as a precursor to a more ambitious project. FIFA confirmed that a quadrennial Women’s Club World Cup, featuring 19 clubs, is set to officially launch in 2028. This strategy mirrors the expansion of the men’s Club World Cup, aiming to establish a consistent global competitive calendar for women’s professional football.
