Sportswear giant Adidas has officially unveiled the away jerseys that will be worn by its partner nations at the upcoming 2026 men’s FIFA World Cup 2026, set to take place across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The launch event was held in Los Angeles, one of the host cities, where Adidas introduced kits for 25 national teams. The collection carries a strong ’90s-inspired aesthetic, marking the return of the iconic trefoil logo—last seen on international kits during the 1990 World Cup in Italy.
Mexico vs South Africa to Open the Tournament
The tournament will kick off with a match between Mexico and South Africa on June 11 at the historic Estadio Azteca.
Mexico’s away kit features a grey and white design with geometric patterns inspired by traditional “grecas” artwork, complemented by red and black detailing on the collar. The design reflects both cultural heritage and modern style.
South Africa’s away jersey, by contrast, presents an elegant green and gold striped look, adding a bold visual identity for the team.
Argentina’s Bold New Look
Reigning world champions Argentina national football team have received one of the standout designs of the collection. Their away kit features a black base with swirling blue floral and plant-inspired patterns, symbolizing both elegance and creativity.
This kit carries added significance as it is expected to be the final World Cup appearance of Lionel Messi, making the jersey a potential historic symbol regardless of Argentina’s performance.
Italy and Jamaica Designs
Italy national football team, who have yet to secure qualification, could wear a light blue and white away kit inspired by tailored suit jackets often associated with their national identity. The design includes subtle gold detailing, reflecting the team’s four World Cup titles.
Meanwhile, Jamaica national football team continues its qualification journey and has unveiled a Bob Marley-inspired away kit. The team hopes to secure a place in the tournament through the inter-confederation playoffs.
A Retro Revival with Modern Identity
Adidas’ latest World Cup collection blends nostalgia with innovation, reviving classic design elements while incorporating modern cultural influences from each nation.
With 25 nations included in the launch, the collection highlights Adidas’ strong presence on the global stage as one of the key kit suppliers for international football.
As the tournament approaches, these designs are expected to play a significant role both on the pitch and in global football culture.
