Following a record-shattering 2026 tournament, Tennis Australia has officially confirmed the dates for the Australia Open 2027. Melbourne Park is set to host the world’s largest January sport and entertainment event from January 11–31, 2027.
The upcoming edition will maintain the successful three-week format introduced in previous years. Opening Week will run from January 11–16, featuring qualifying matches and high-profile practice sessions, before the Main Draw begins on Sunday, January 17. The tournament will culminate with the finals on the weekend of January 30–31.
The 2027 announcement comes on the heels of a historic 2026 Australian Open, which saw a staggering 1.3 million fans pass through the gates. The 2026 event was headlined by Carlos Alcaraz becoming the youngest man to complete a career Grand Slam and Elena Rybakina claiming her first AO title.
