Levy has officially been named the food and beverage provider for the future home of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers. The world-renowned hospitality group secured the contract with Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) and Comcast Spectacor, edging out current provider Aramark.
A New Era in South Philadelphia
The new arena, scheduled to open in 2030, will replace the current Xfinity Mobile Arena. This venue will not only house the 76ers and Flyers but is also designated as the future home for Philadelphia’s new WNBA expansion team.
The project marks a significant shift in the city’s sports landscape following the decision in early 2025 to keep the arena within the South Philadelphia Sports Complex rather than moving to a downtown location.
Why Levy?
HBSE Chief Executive Tad Brown emphasized that the selection process was highly competitive. “We went through this process with a very open mind,” Brown stated. “We felt very comfortable with Levy and what they presented and how we believe we’re going to work together in the future.”
Levy brings a high-profile portfolio to the table, already managing hospitality for elite venues such as:
- United Center (Chicago)
- Crypto.com Arena (Los Angeles)
- Prudential Center (Newark)
Construction and Design Giants Team Up
The arena’s development is backed by a powerhouse group of firms:
- Design: Led by Populous in collaboration with Moody Nolan.
- Construction: A joint venture known as PACT+, led by Turner Construction and AECOM Hunt, alongside several prominent Philadelphia-based firms.
The new facility will sit in the heart of the city’s premier sports hub, joining Lincoln Financial Field (Eagles) and Citizens Bank Park (Phillies) to solidify South Philadelphia as one of the most concentrated sports districts in the United States.
