The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has signed a new broadcast partnership with Sky New Zealand to air all 16 of its global events in 2026, further expanding its international media footprint.
The agreement, which began with PFL Madrid in March, will see Sky NZ carry the promotion’s full event calendar across its sports network throughout the year.
Full season coverage
Under the deal, Sky NZ will broadcast every PFL Global event, starting with upcoming cards such as PFL Chicago on April 11, which features high-profile matchups including former Bellator champion Sergio Pettis.
The partnership ensures New Zealand viewers have consistent access to live MMA content across the entire season.
Strengthening regional presence
Sky NZ’s head of content partnerships highlighted the growing connection between PFL and the Oceania region, noting the promotion’s investment in developing talent across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific.
The inclusion of fighters with regional ties, such as Jay-Jay “The Māori Kid” Wilson, is expected to further resonate with local audiences and enhance fan engagement.
Building on previous collaboration
This new agreement expands on a prior partnership between PFL and Sky NZ dating back to 2022, when the broadcaster carried the league’s Challenger Series, regular season, playoffs, and championship events.
The renewed deal signals continued confidence in the platform as a key distribution partner in the region.
Global expansion strategy
The Sky NZ agreement is part of a broader international rights strategy by PFL, which has recently secured or renewed media partnerships across multiple territories, including Japan, China, France, and Latin America.
The promotion has also strengthened its betting and data ecosystem through partnerships aimed at enhancing live content distribution and fan engagement.
Looking ahead
With international distribution growing, PFL is also focused on finalizing its U.S. media rights strategy as its current agreement with ESPN approaches expiration. The league continues to position itself as a global MMA property with an expanding presence across both traditional broadcast and digital platforms.
