154 Partners Targets Sports Betting Boom With $400M Raise

154 Partners Secures $400M for Sports Betting Expansion

154 Partners is making an aggressive push into the fast-growing U.S. sports betting market, securing $400 million in funding for its first major investment vehicle.

The firm, founded in 2025 and backed by Blackstone Inc. executive David Blitzer, has reached its fundraising cap as it prepares to roll out a pilot betting initiative in the United States.

Built from Blackstone roots

154 Partners emerges directly from the investment ecosystem of Blackstone, with Blitzer working alongside co-founders Isaac Harrouche and Mike Berlin—both of whom previously collaborated within Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities platform.

The strategy reflects that background: flexible, opportunistic investments targeting inefficiencies across the sports and gaming landscape.

Focus on mid-market sports assets

The firm is positioning itself in the lower and mid-market segment, targeting companies generating between $2 million and $20 million in EBITDA. Its focus is primarily on sports-related businesses, with betting and gaming now a central pillar.

This approach allows 154 Partners to identify scalable assets early and build value before larger institutional investors step in.

Blitzer doubles down on sports

Blitzer is already one of the most active investors in global sports. His portfolio includes stakes in teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils, as well as a broader network of European football clubs through his Global Football Holdings platform.

His investments span clubs such as Crystal Palace FC, FC Augsburg, Estoril Praia, and AD Alcorcón.

In the U.S., he also led the acquisition of Real Salt Lake in 2022 in a deal valued at around $400 million.

Betting as the next frontier

With an estimated net worth of $3.6 billion and a presence across all five major U.S. sports leagues, Blitzer is now positioning sports betting as his next major growth play.

The launch of 154 Partners’ betting-focused strategy signals increasing investor confidence in the sector, as legalization expands and fan engagement models evolve.

For 154 Partners, the objective is clear: combine sports ownership expertise with capital deployment in betting to capture value across both sides of the ecosystem.
