The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has officially submitted its preliminary bid dossier to UEFA, expressing its ambition to host the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final in 2029.
After a three-month exploratory phase, the FAI collaborated with the Aviva Stadium, the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, and Dublin City Council to evaluate the feasibility of the event. The assessment focused on financial costs, delivery logistics, and the potential legacy for football in Ireland.
The FAI believes its strong track record—including hosting the UEFA Europa League Finals in 2011 and 2024, and its ongoing preparations for EURO 2028—places Dublin in a premier position. Combined with the soaring popularity of women’s football in Ireland, the association is confident in its ability to host the 28th edition of the prestigious final. The final bid submission is expected in early June.
