Handball-Bundesliga Taps Dyn to Upgrade Global Streaming Service

Germany’s Dyn Media has expanded its alliance with the Handball-Bundesliga (HBL), taking over the technical development and modernization of the league’s international streaming platform, HBL TV.

Starting in mid-2026, Dyn Media will implement a high-performance OTT infrastructure designed to automate content delivery to more than 100 countries where the HBL currently lacks a dedicated media partner.

Automation and AI Integration

The upgrade focuses on “efficiency through technology.” By integrating HBL TV with Dyn’s proprietary Content Desk, matches from both the top-tier HBL and the second-tier 2.HBL will be transferred, scheduled, and streamed automatically without the need for manual intervention.

Key Technical Features include:

  • Automated Live Streams: Events created and managed by AI-driven systems.
  • Content Desk Access: Real-time distribution and monetization of league highlights.
  • Digitized Archive: Full access to the league’s historical match data dating back to 1991.

A New Corporate Structure

The announcement comes shortly after Dyn Media’s strategic split into two distinct entities:

  1. Dyn Sport: Focusing on end-customer marketing and rights acquisition.
  2. Dyn Media: Serving as the technical powerhouse for broadcasting operations and production solutions.

Andreas Heyden, CEO of Dyn Media, emphasized the shift in global sports: “International visibility today is not created by rights alone, but by powerful technological infrastructure. Our ambition is to equip sports organizations to manage their content globally in a sustainable way.”
