ICC announces record prize money for Women’s T20 World Cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed record prize money for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, underlining the continued commercial growth of women’s cricket.

The tournament, set to take place across England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, will feature a total prize pool of $8,764,615—an increase of 10% compared to the 2024 edition.

All 12 participating teams will receive at least $247,500, more than double the minimum payout from the previous tournament. The winners will earn $2.34 million, while the runners-up will take home $1.17 million. Additionally, each group-stage victory will be rewarded with $31,154.

The expanded prize structure comes as the tournament grows from 10 to 12 teams, reflecting both increased investment and rising global interest in women’s cricket.

Alongside the financial boost, the ICC continues to attract commercial partners. Kettle Chips has joined as an official supporter, alongside Royal Stag, with existing partnerships also including Google and Unilever.

The previous edition of the tournament was won by New Zealand women’s cricket team, who defeated South Africa women’s cricket team in the final.

The increased prize pool and growing commercial backing highlight the accelerating momentum behind women’s cricket, as governing bodies and sponsors continue to invest in expanding the sport’s global reach and visibility.
