UEFA, in collaboration with its partner agency Relevent Sports, has officially opened the broadcast rights tender process for the 2027-28 to 2030-31 cycle of its men’s club competitions. The move covers 19 territories across Europe and the Americas, as UEFA aims for a 10% increase in global rights value.
Broad Regional Coverage
The tenders, which went live today (March 2), include the UEFA Champions League (UCL), Europa League, Conference League, Youth League, and the Super Cup. Key markets involved in this wave include:
- Europe: Austria, Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Scandinavia (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden), and Switzerland.
- Americas: Brazil, Mexico, Central America, and South America (excluding Brazil).
- Others: Canada and the Republic of Ireland.
Key Deadlines and Financial Targets
The submission deadline for these 19 markets is set for April 21, 2026. UEFA is looking to surpass its current annual revenue of £2.9 billion ($3.8 billion). This cycle marks the first global processes managed by Relevent Football Partners, which took over from long-standing partner Team Marketing in late 2024.
New “Marquee” Match Format
A notable update for the 2027-31 cycle is the introduction of a standalone marquee fixture to open each Champions League season. This game will be hosted by the defending champions on a Tuesday night, followed by the rest of the matchday on Wednesday and Thursday.
